A few days ago, the CEO of BitSkins wrote a post on Reddit where he says that the platform will be no longer available in a few weeks. What do you think of this? Is Valve going to destroy all of its competitors or there will always be secure third party marketplaces like BitSkins?

Also, I'd like to know where are you going to buy/sell your skins now? Because it is not actually the BitSkins was making the service good but its community and if we all move to another platform together, we will lose nothing. Many people talk about DMarket as a good alternative. What do you think of it?

I've disliked the idea of using third-party sites to carry out market / trade activity for Steam items, simply because there's a risk of losing your user-account via phishing and other methods.

There are some third-party sites that have clone pages of themselves, which generally will appear in search engines because of Google Ad words. These pages will have a fake pop-up that will grab your account details, and it's then stolen.

My two-cents on this is quite simply, just stay within Steam, and should you use any third-party site, be aware of phishing scams or any other funky things that could potentially be malicious.
