Dear GameTracker Support,
I am currently experiencing issues adding my Garry's Mod server to GameTracker. Despite having followed all necessary steps, GameTracker still reports my server as offline with the message: "Your server is currently offline. GameTracker needs your server to be online before you can add it to our database. Please restart your server and make sure it's up before hitting ADD SERVER again. You entered the wrong query port. Please update your query port and hit scan again." Server Details: IP Address: 51.38.211.205 Game Port: 27015 (query port is correctly set to the same port) Steps I Have Taken: Firewall Configuration: All firewalls, including OVH's Game Firewall and CSF on my server, have been configured to allow traffic on the necessary ports (27000-29999) or have been temporarily disabled to ensure they are not blocking GameTracker’s queries. Server Configuration: The server is configured correctly with sv_lan 0 and other necessary settings. I have ensured that the server communicates successfully with Steam, as indicated by the console log: Connection to Steam servers successful. Public IP is 51.38.211.205. Third-Party Tools: The server responds correctly to queries using tools like Steam Server Query Tool (Steam Query Tool) https://steamquerytool.com/?ip=51.38.211.205&port=27015, which shows the server details accurately. GameTracker IP Whitelisting: GameTracker's IPs have been added to my whitelist, and there are no restrictions that should be blocking GameTracker from accessing my server. Despite these steps, GameTracker continues to display the server as offline or inaccessible. I have confirmed that the query port is correct and consistent with the server’s configuration, and there are no visible network issues. Request: Could you please assist in diagnosing why GameTracker is unable to query my server? Is there any additional configuration or specific requirement that needs to be adjusted on my end, or could this be an issue on GameTracker’s side? I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Best regards, |

Excellent detail and analysis. You appear to have eliminated all the usual causes, however;
As there are over 500 Garry's Mod servers GMod Servers currently registered and scanning correctly we must logically assume that the problem is at your end somewhere. I assume you have full control over your server host machine? The two things I suggest you attempt to confirm; 1) that your ISP is not somehow blocking GT scanning servers from contacting your server; 2) look through some GT registered GMod servers Server Variables (visible from the server pages) to look for any setting(s) that may be different to yours and causing issues. Thank you for your response and your suggestions.
To address your suggestions: ISP Blocking: We have verified that our ISP is not blocking traffic from GameTracker’s IP addresses. We confirmed that other query tools such as Steam Server Query Tool can successfully connect to and retrieve information from our server without issues, which indicates that inbound query traffic is reaching the server as expected. Server Variables Comparison: I have carefully compared my server's variables with those of other GameTracker-registered GMod servers, and while there are some minor differences, none appear to be directly related to server scanning or query functionality. The notable differences are: sv_maxrate and sv_minrate: My server uses specific values (30000 and 10000), but other servers show varying settings without consistent issues related to GameTracker scanning. decalfrequency: Set at a higher value of 10 on my server compared to 5 on others, but this setting relates primarily to decal graphics and should not impact query accessibility. sv_allowcslua and sv_cheats: Both are set to 0 on my server, consistent with typical security settings and similar to other servers registered on GameTracker. sbox_noclip and max entities settings (e.g., sbox_maxprops, sbox_maxnpcs): These settings primarily manage gameplay elements and do not seem connected to server scanning or query issues. sv_timeout and sv_maxupdaterate/sv_minupdaterate: Adjusted for gameplay performance but consistent with common values seen on other GameTracker-listed servers. Given these comparisons, I haven’t identified any setting that directly affects GameTracker’s ability to connect and query the server. Additionally, the server is online, accessible to other query tools, and configured with appropriate ports open and IP addresses whitelisted. Could there be any other settings or lesser-known configurations that specifically impact GameTracker’s scanning mechanism? Or is there another layer of testing or verification that I should explore? Your further guidance would be greatly appreciated as we continue to troubleshoot this issue.

Dear GameTracker Support,
I wanted to thank you for your assistance and guidance throughout this troubleshooting process. After careful review, it appears that OVH, our server provider, made some adjustments to their firewall settings, which resolved the issue we were experiencing. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and support in helping us identify potential causes on our end. Your detailed suggestions were instrumental in narrowing down the root of the problem. Additionally, I wanted to provide a small suggestion based on my experience. When adding a server and encountering a firewall error, the IP addresses listed in the error message are: ////////// Your server is firewalled. Please turn off any firewall you have that may block scanning or whitelist the GameTracker scanning IP addresses: 149.28.43.230 45.77.96.90 108.61.78.150 108.61.78.149 ////////// However, I found that these IP addresses may not be fully up-to-date. The correct and current IPs are listed in this forum post. If possible, it might be helpful to update the error message to reflect the correct IP addresses, as this was initially a point of confusion that took some investigation to resolve. Thank you once again for your help. Should we encounter any further issues, I won’t hesitate to reach out. Best regards, |

Thank you for the update. Glad you resolved it.
Apologies for not including a link to the current scanner IP addresses (I usually do). I will point an admin/developer at this thread for hopefully correcting the IP addresses in the error message.
