not sure what happened, was playing stalwart with others then it looked like server crashed. ie shots not coming out, people running into walls, etc. left to eat dinner, when i came back 2/3 of the servers on my favs list show up as n/a. website clearly shows server is up and running, but no matter how much i refresh, server always shows up as n/a. tried restarting UT which didn't solve the issue. also restarted computer, still nothing. lastly turned off my antivirus and searched again thinking it may have blocked it for some unknown reason. but still nothing. server shows up in list of invasion servers, but with n/a listed for ping.

This happened to me the other day playing with a bunch of people. Except the server was up and working within 5 minutes. It never went down for anyone else playing at the time.

That's weird. We still managed to win the map after you left.

That's really strange. Maybe it was a problem with the master server? Were you able to connect when it said N/A? Or maybe it's related to the lag issues (not seeing shots, monsters) that sometimes affect some people during a match but not others. Perhaps Gameserver's connection to certain ISPs is bad at times? I don't know. They host a lot of servers, so it would make sense that if there was a problem at their datacenter, it would affect several servers at the same time.
DC is showing up in the favorites/browser for me right now though. |

I submitted a trouble ticket and this is what Game Servers staff told me:
GSStaff wrote: Here are instructions to do the traceroute: GSSTaff wrote: Do this the next time you have extreme lag and can't see monsters/shots or can't see the server in the server browser. Send it to me as a PM, and I'll forward the info to GS. Include the time and date, map played and wave number.

i was not able to connect at all while it said N/A under server ping. information for server wasn't available and the name had zzz disasterous zzzz cons . just checked and it's working this morning. it was very strange. one thing i noticed is the only servers affected were ones with colors in their name. any server without colored names stayed on my fav list. the ones with colors all showed N/A under ping. thanks for looking into it jefe. ill traceroute next time i have this issue. although it probably had something to do with my ISP.

Here's mine for the hell of it, I put private where I don't want people to know my gateway/ip
[EDIT: I said PM this info - Jefe] Trace complete. Bizarre how the ping goes up then down in sydney. Is there some way to specify the route my PC takes? I used http://www.ip-tracker.org/locator/ip-lookup.php to see the screwed up way my connection get to the server and it's anything but direct from what I can see.

This is what they replied yesterday:
Hello, There is no way to change your route, unfortunately. There is likely an issue closer to you that is causing the trouble, and that will translate to the rest of the route. The routing is determined by the routers themselves based upon real time information of 'best possible route' details. Best doesn't always mean shortest, it can mean 'only active' or 'non-congested' route, which may increase latency, but will ensure service stays functional Thanks, Zachary Williams http://www.gameservers.com/ Frag. Not Lag. |
