Firstly, love all the latest changes. Really enjoying the server!

There are a few things that i don't like. The chopper/helicopter and hammer car look really childish, i just don't think they fit in very well with the game.


I think that the AM needs something better as their 250adren "nuke". The megablast is just boring. I have mentioned it before, but in Chaos Ut, there is a vortex gun. The vortex created by the gun would be a fantastic replacement. It also looks really cool. I just think their needs to be something to work towards, as otherwise there is no real point in getting 250 adren.

Another idea for the AM was an "advanced combo" skill, which would make the current adren combos better. for example, the bezerk could be twice as fast, the booster heal the whole party, speed twice as fast, invincible actually makes you invisible to monsters. alternatively, the current combos could juts cost less energy. I kind of feel that speed needs to be much much cheaper for the AM, so they dodge more, so they can keep it running nearly all the time. They are weak and fragile, but i feel they need the edge over the other classes in terms of maneuverability.

I think the wep master chould have the weapon making artifacts instead of an AM, but not be able to use rod/globe/triple. They are after all WEAPON masters, so surely they should be able to make them?

Another idea for the WM would be for them to have a "supercharge" skill. for example, they could press and hold the shock rifle fire, and it would charge up the shot, doing much more damage. or with the rocket, releasing say 5 rockets. i just feel the weapons master should be able to use his weapons better than everyone else.

Just ideas. I know that you are still getting the hang of it all, but i might as well share the ideas. The thing i really think is needed is the vortex for the AM It would be awesome.

Also could someone confirm if triple/DD/DDsphere works with any of the artifacts?

It would be cool to have a game type that involved a boss wave at the end. On a large map with a massive boss. Have like 10 players minimum (bots for empty spaces)

*Toon vehicles: I should explain that these are a recent addition, and that they should still very much be considered in 'testing.' So far I've received mostly positive feedback about them, but I do agree that they difference in style is a bit jarring. But I think they look cool lol. They're mostly a rebalanced replacement set of vehicles (in fact they're from a map called ONS-TW-MushroomKingdom.) What I'll probably end up doing is taking a few aspects of these vehicles and adding to the standard ones. I am on the lookout for other vehicles to add/modify for the server.

*Megablast Yeah I think that would be cool. I think I might be able to do a port of the vortex effect, at least, it's within the range of my current coding skills.

*Advanced Adren master combos.
These suggestions do make sense thematically.. an adrenaline master should be able to do fancy combos! As they are now, they should be known as 'artifact masters.' Also as they are now, I think these abilities would be too powerful if added to their current skillset without making drastic changes to the class.

*Weapon masters and weapons I agree, I've had much the same thought about moving weapon making skills to WMs. Again, it makes sense that a weapon master have mastery of making (and keeping) weapons. The problem here is that these two classes would need a major overhaul to make these ideas work... and well that's a lot of work that's a bit beyond my current abilities.

*Weapon master power
Advanced damage bonus does much the same thing, but yeah, it would be interesting. Currently we give a few extra weapons and enchantments to WMs, but the real trick to doing something like this idea is that if I set WMs up with a 5-barrel rocket, they would still be able to pick up the 3 barrel version. I would need to figure out how to prevent that happening to make this idea work, or a way to make the upgraded weapons only usable by WMs. But I do like the idea, and it could be an interesting replacement to advanced damage bonus. One caveat here is it would create problems with weapon sharing - this would be espeically problematic if we made WMs the new MWM users - sharing powered up weapons would be vastly different. Ideally I'd like it if the WM dropped a 'super' weapon to share, other players would get the same enchantment, but on a 'regular' weapon.

Also could someone confirm if triple/DD/DDsphere works with any of the artifacts? Yes double damage works with artifacts, although some artifacts are coded to give less than true "DD" power. Triple cannot be used on certain enchantments, and as far as I know sphere works the same ways as DD.

BossesThe problem with bosses is that they super easy to exploit under most situations and are a coding nightmare when it comes to removing those exploits.

Here's an idea.

Can you configure and put on a resurrection mutator.

Can you configure it to use the admin teleport command so that when you resurrect someone they spawn beside you.

A lot of lower level players spawn no where near a base someone has made or a safe area and immediately are killed by monsters. I've been annoyed in the past by players who upon death keep mid-map voting and will actually resort to team-killing in order to force the base to collapse and everyone then die.

Or they log multiple accounts onto the server and force the map vote by majority.

And before anyone asks yes this is currently happening on the current server.

Several people have asked about resurrection or necro mutators in the past. The idea behind these mutators is to keep people in the game instead of waiting.

This is the purpose of free ghost and other bonuses being given until level 61 on this server, these only lasted until level 41 on the old DC. On here, the bonuses get reduced at level 31 (was 21 on old DC) to wean you off the freebies. I'll have to see what Demonslayer and Hollon think, but I could change the reduction point to level 45 or so, since with the current configs it doesn't take much time at to get to level 31 (old DC started people at level 5 and had a very tough leveling curve, DEK started at level 7 until recently.)

After wave 9 or so, it is supposed to get difficult. There is a good chance you'll die. This isn't a problem if you're playing alone, but if you're with other players you may have to wait. Buy Damage Reduction and HP bonuses as soon as you can - these are required for when you buy ghost anyway and will help you survive.

Invasion Pro had an interesting automatic resurrection system that worked fairly well. As players made kills a necro point pool built up, and would automatically resurrect players (not bots) if the pool was large enough. Unfortunately, Invasion Pro had a host of problems. I don't know if the res system could be ported separately, but I'd consider adding it if we can.

If you are having problems with players being disruptive and team killing, PM me or another mod with the details including map played and time and date and we will look into it. Mid map votes aren't forbidden, but they can be annoying. Logging on with multiple account just to force a new map is definitely a problem.

Please understand that in many ways, our server is a lot easier for the lower level players than Druid's DC server. However, we have to balance the need for lower level players with those who have "earned" their spurs and endured the lots of dying that it takes to become proficient on this or any other UT 2004 invasion server.

I have had requests to port player's levels over from other server and told them no. They get to restart all over again if they want to play here. I know how hard it is. I was a level 800+ on another server when I started with Druid's DC server.

As to resurrection or necro, I do not particularly care for either. However, there might be some case for resurrection if it costs a player a lot of adrenaline and that player considers it worth the cost. Again, as Jefe said, this is a discussion that needs to take place between the owners, the moderators, and the programmers.

I agree. DC had a reputation as a difficult, but rewarding server. Leveling should make players better, but the server shouldn't be so difficult that newbies simply can't participate. As Demonslayer said, we've done a lot to help newbies here.

The biggest issues I've seen with most res mutators is it promotes begging ("REZ PLZ") and requires the experienced player to spend a good deal of effort and adren to do so, that could go towards healing and protecting players or killing monsters. I recall playing on one "extreme" server years ago, a player resurrected me over and over, but it was impossible for me to survive more than a few seconds. Very frustrating (probably for him too) and ultimately pointless.

Our difficulty level is high, but you can usually make it to a base on most maps. You can also try rejoining. As long as there aren't other players dead this often works.

As I said, I did like the InvPro system, and mainly because it was completely hands off. If there was enough mana in the pool, you'd come back. But even then it wouldn't make a huge amount of difference since waves aren't that long, and if it is a later wave, there's a good chance you'll die anyway.

personaly i dont see a resurect with good eyes. and if it happens 1 time per map? its good if once in a while we fail a map dont you think?

also i agre AM need something in the past that was my favorite character.. now i barely play it

Jefe I seen a mutator placed on a server that resulted if you asked for rez more than 5 times you got booted from server. I lol'd.

On the RB server they have a resurrection skill built into a class called spell-caster and at the upper levels of it you can resurrect people beside you.

I figured if you could get the code or make your own it'd be good.

I've seen a resurrection artifact on another server you can pick-up from a monster you've killed and can use to resurrect a person of your choosing.

Who are the owners this gets discussed with, I thought DEMONSLAYER was the go to guy for this server.
