EA Maxis' First Sim City 5 In-Game Screenshots & E3 Gameplay Trailer


The dormant Sim City series is slated to make its return soon, courtesy of EA Maxis. They've released the first in-game screenshots of it since they began releasing trailers and CGI demos with developers discussing the technology behind it. There's also a gameplay trailer from E3

Right now, they are targeting a 2013 release that will be PC exclusive. They do plan on having it available for sale in brick and mortar stores, along with digital distribution such as Steam and Origin.



Many long-time fans of the series are excited about the potential success of this upcoming edition, and hope that this reboot will be what the series needs to get back on the map as the go-to game for simulation fans around the world.

I'm really excited about it! It almost looks like they are going the Team Fortress 2 route with the graphics. I hope they release a demo of it before the game comes out so we can see if it still has that great feel to it that past editions did. I've played a couple other city simulations since the last Sim City and I didn't enjoy them at all.
