Geez, what a bunch of spoiled brats. Give these folks a chance to work out the logisitics on being able to obtain the data needed to provide the banner and tracking support. Rome wasn't built in a freaking day!
Be thankful that folks are investing their time, effort, and money to provide this service *FREE* of charge for you in the first place, instead of berating and insulting them because they have not placated your pampered asses as quickly as you silver spooned brats would have liked! Get a clue that the answer is you will get the banners when they are available and quit pissing and moaning day after day after day that you're pampered ass hasn't been powdered yet!!

Eh, after ten days or so, I think they would have had a basic banner for our websites at the very least.
Cod4/Bf2/2142/ffow/bc2/moh have all had them up in DAYS. All your 'give em a bit' stuff, is just by the wayside now. With the hype and all, the game shoudla been released in better condition. THEY HAVE CONTROL OF SERVER, being gameservers/gametracker, being 'Exclusive', they shoulda had a banner up day one to be honest. I gave them a bit, time to start timing in. www.habitat4hookers.org

grandoak wrote: Yes they provide this service for free at their expense.. However... Their marketing impressions and CPC AND marketing fee's from game publishers AND the money raised from internal referrals from here to GameServers.com means that this free service they provide earns them quite alot of cash also means that every server out there that uses GameTracker banners on their site is helping earn them a little more cash and gain more unique hits... So... Yeah they need us as much as we need them. Also we're not simply pissing and moaning, we're trying to get them to resolve it quicker by letting them know how much we want it. If nobody had asked, if not one single person asked when BO support would be available, they may feel nobody's that interested we'll get round to it when we can. However this topic alone is hopefully resulting in them working that little bit harder to get it out that little bit faster. Also GameTracker is owned by GameServers, the very same company that was given exclusive rights to host Black-Ops servers, I'm sure they had the server files prior to the games release.. Probably way before it's release.

I check everyday to see if it's listed. I guess they just have their hands full right now and will get to it when they get to it.

grandoak wrote: Generalizing = bad Service for free? We pay a lot for our servers. I have 2 servers and 2 TS servers. I have no server watcher though, something I've had since 1999. Yes, 1999. My UT servers had day one server watchers but my COD Blops server doesn't, in 2010. I love Gameservers and have been using them forever, but this is effed up.

Whats the point in the the tracker which displays the server info when there is actually no way at this point of time to a,remote connect to your server. b,and there is no way to /connect in game. as much as i'd like this i think these issues need fixing first

egcc wrote: Sure there is. They want a piece of the advertisement pie. It's this kind of crap that creates monopolies and kills competition. It's like the phone companies owning all the phone lines and killing the small guy because he's taking like .02$ of his revenue. It's total crap and they can survive without that .02%. They do it because they're afraid that if someone has a choice they'll lose the monopoly. At any rate I certainly hope Treyarch decides to allow some of the cvars to be usable. They exist and we know they exist they just need to let us use them. One of the other mindsets is "Well we're trying to defeat hacking by keeping a lock down on cvars." Which is again a crock because hacking is going to happen no matter what. PC Gaming != Console gaming we DO NOT need to be led around by the hand. Which the industry thinks we do. At any rate I'm a little pissed at GT now since I've got to figure some hack around the gay banner that shows up for now. Our site dynamically gets the info from the GT URL and then spits it out. So now I have to work around our current code and then add it to the code that is being used for GT. PITA.

Gameserver's got what they wanted they got to sell 15000 servers for black ops and with that money they will be able to pay Treyarch that corrupt money so they could be the only server provider good for you gameservers. Honestly i have never bought from gameservers i only Buy From NFO, gameservers for your sake and our's please just allow other provider's to sell servers you have already made enough money now let us play in peace with the companies we enjoy and love.
I was thinking about this, and while a full-on lawsuit would be impractical, as a gamer, it might be worth filing a complaint with the FTC, if you believe that your rights are being trampled: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/. This is the sort of thing that they will investigate. Please everyone send in a complaint so that other server provider's can have the right to sell servers for this game.
