SU-85
A soviet self-propelled gun. Production started in 1943, and the first vehicles reached their units by August. SU-85 was a modification of the earlier SU-122 self-propelled howitzer, essentially replacing the 122 mm M-30S howitzer of the SU-122 with a D-5T high-velocity 85 mm antitank gun.

BF 109 G-2
The G-2, which started production in May 1942, lacked the cabin pressurization and GM-1 installation. New But it closely resembled the Bf 109 F-4 and carried the same basic armament. The newly fitted Daimler-Benz DB 605A engine was a development of the DB 601E engine utilised by the preceding Bf 109F-4; displacement and compression ratio were increased as well as other detail improvement. It can be found in Bocage, Bombing The Reich-1943, Kasserine Pass-1943 and Prokhorovka-1943 maps.



Eierhandgranate M39
Introduced in 1939 and produced until the end of World War II. There were two variants: 4 seconds delay and 7.5. The colour of the cap indicated the burning time of the type of fuse fitted. Blue meant 4 sec., yellow - 7.5 sec. It was decided to make a random grenade selection system for each German class. So, with the new respawn you have a new type of grenade. It can be EiHgr.39 with 4 (blue cap) or 7.5 seconds delay (yellow cap) and Stielhandgranate 24. Eierhandgranate M39 and Nebelhandgranate 39 were taken from FH Fan Mappack #6.

Textures
Some new textures has been added: BF 109 E, F-4, flags, etc.



Various fixes
Maybe even the main place in new version was reserved for different fixes and improvements. Here are some:
- Decreased camera shaking (recoil) for light and medium tank guns
- Fixed SU-122 texture, wreck; changed projectile force
- Fixed bug with smoke and fire at tank spawn
and many other.

AI
- Added AI to Omaha Charlie Sector
- Fixed T19HMC errors which caused Desert Rose-1942 and some other maps crash; M3A1 Stuart errors; etc.

Das Battlegoup42-Team meldet sich zur�¼ck mit einer stabil laufenden Webseite und einem ebensolchen Gameserver: Nach all den Problemen und dem Gefummel hat sich schlie��lich herausgestellt, dass eine defekte Hardware die Ursache f�¼r die St�¶rungen und Abst�¼rze war. Wir m�¶chten uns an dieser Stelle bei allen bedanken, die uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite gestanden haben, und hier ganz besonders Grabbi vom PFC-Team. Nun aber wird es wieder Zeit f�¼r eine News �¼ber neue Inhalte der finalen Battlegroup42-Version 1.8, und darum wollen wir euch hier drei neue Modelle vorstellen.




Genaugenommen sind es keine ganz neuen Modelle: Alle drei sind den Battlegroup42-Spielern seit langem bekannt. Aber wir haben die Gelegenheit genutzt, sie durch neue, bessere Modelle zu ersetzen und unsere Mod damit aufzuwerten.

Besonders n�¶tig hatte diese Verbesserung ein wichtiges Element der Japanischen Marineluftwaffe: Unser bisheriges Modell des Tr�¤gerangriffsbombers Nakajima B5N "Kate" war alt und recht grob, selbst nach BF1942-Vanilla-Standards. Unser Modeller RuppDee hat hier nun Abhilfe geschaffen und ein fantastisches neues Modell der "Kate" vorgelegt. Es verf�¼gt �¼ber zwei ebenfalls von RuppDee erstellte Skinvarianten jeweils f�¼r die fr�¼he Phase des Pazifikkrieges und f�¼r die sp�¤te Phase. Die Nakajima B5N war zu Beginn des 2. Weltkrieges der modernste Tr�¤gerbomber der Welt. Als Torpedoflugzeug und Horizontalbomber spielte sie eine wichtige Rolle bei allen bedeutenden Schlachten des Pazifikkrieges, von Pearl Harbour im Jahr 1941 bis zum Kampf um die Philippinen im Herbst 1944. Zu dieser Zeit war sie auf den gro��en Tr�¤gern bereits weitgehend durch ihre Nachfolgerin B6N "Tenzan" ersetzt worden. Einige Maschinen wurden noch 1945 von kleineren Geleittr�¤gern oder Landbasen aus eingesetzt. Neben ihrer MG-Bewaffnung konnte die "Kate" einen 800-Kilo-Torpedo oder 800 Kilo Bombenlast tragen.

Das zweite neue Modell ist ebenfalls ein Bomber und ersetzt ein bereits vorhandenes Flugzeug: Gemeint ist die Junkers Ju 87 "Stuka". ��ber diesen legend�¤ren deutschen Sturzkampfbomber und Schlachtflieger m�¼ssen wir hier sicher keine weiteren Erl�¤uterungen schreiben. Bislang flog in Battlegroup42 noch das Modell aus dem BF1942-Originalspiel. Im Fundus der aufgegebenen BGF-Mod fanden wir k�¼rzlich ein deutlich besseres, sehr sch�¶n detailliertes Modell einer Ausf�¼hrung B welche von petemonster erstellt wurde, mit dem wir die alte M�¼hle in Rente schicken konnten. Sarge Surfat lieferte noch je eine Skinvariante f�¼r die italienische und die ungarische Luftwaffe dazu, Sarge31FR steuerte einen W�¼stenskin f�¼r die deutsche Luftwaffe bei.


Junkers Ju 87 "Stuka"




Bei unserer dritten Modellvorstellung handelt es sich um eine station�¤re Waffe, die von fast allen am 2. Weltkrieg beteiligten Nationen in Lizenz gebaut und vorwiegend zur Luftabwehr eingesetzt wurde: die 2cm Maschinenkanone vom Typ Oerlikon. Auch sie war bereits in BG42 vorhanden, beispielsweise als Schiffsflak, wird nun aber durch ein detaillierteres Modell von RuppDee ersetzt. Es gibt sie au��erdem in einer Zwillingsausf�¼hrung.

Here's another new map for the coming build v2.50.
It's called 'No Where To Run' and has some ideas from the community in it.
More detailed pictures in our missions section!

It's the first map where bots use the ropebridges really good.

Churchill Kangaroo



The Kangaroo was an APC variant of the Churchill tank. For this purpose the turret was dropped and the opening closed. The Kangaroo concept proved to be very successful and was first used by the Canadians who used obsolete M7 Priest‘s. It was then quickly adopted by the Brits.

Inside of the Churchill Kangaroo is room for a driver, a machine gun operator and four soldiers. The armor protection and climb ability is clearly superior to the regular M3 half-track, the overall speed is significantly lower though. There are also variants that have the additional armor which was introduced in a previous news. That makes the Churchill Kangaroo even more durable and gives you the opportunity to transport infantry savely even through heavy enemy fire.




Churchill ARV

Although looking very similar to the Kangaroo the Churchill ARV has a completely different task. It’s a recovery tank and has therefore the same ability as the already available Bergetiger. That means you can repair friendly vehicles if you’re close to them. Because of the good protection and low silhouette it’s possible to repair them even during battles and tip the balance in your favor!




ISU-T/ISU APC

The ISU-T was a russian recovery vehicle based on the ISU-122. It also comes without the main armament and has the same repair ability as the Churchill ARV but is a bit faster and can so keep up with other tanks easier. The 12.7 mm DShK machine gun on top has more power and is also more flexible than the Churchill’s Besa but the operator isn’t safe from infantry weapons.


Another new vehicle is the APC variant of the ISU-T. It looks very similar and offers seats for four people inside.




Chi-Ha APC

Another derived APC, this time based on the Chi-Ha. It doesn’t really offer the same protection as the Churchill or ISU and is only armed with a Type 97 7.7 mm bow machine gun.



All the APC’s can also appear as a mobile spawnpoint on the map, either permanent or temporarily via mouse click from the driver. In addition he has the chance to drop a machine gun kit from the back of the tank.

For the recovery tanks there’s a new vehicle icon on the mini-map to help you finding them in the heat of a battle.
