So tick it if I want to receieve emails if I get any new PM messages....

Do you mean you want an option so that you can disable receiving PM notifications by email? PMs have automatically sent you an email when you receive them for quite some time now.

Yes exactly, there are some people who come here often and prefer to have as little emails as possible. Especially if they are getting 30+ emails per day.
