Game type changes on it's own, why???

Hi,

I'm hosting a Left 4 Dead 1 server and sometimes the "game type" changes to Counter Strike: Source, which clearly isn't the game I'm hosting. Why is this happening? I have to keep changing the game type back to Left 4 Dead at least once a day.

Any ideas on how to fix this so it stays as Left 4 Dead?

Thanks

Hi fifthsurvivor,

Your server in your favorites reports a steamappid of 240. This value indicates CSS. You can see this on http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/173.208.214.190:27015/server_variables/

More info here https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Steam_Application_IDs

GameTracker will continue to switch the gametype based on this ID until you can resolve the incorrect reporting of steamappid.

Hi burn,:)

Interesting.... when I first set the server, it up it was working fine. Then out of nowhere, I got an ID error. I had to manually change it to 500. Which I did. It stayed that way for a while. I just checked and you're correct, it was set to 240. I'll change it again. Thanks

But what could have caused it to change to another game altogether?:T I'm the only one with access to the server files besides the host, and I surely didn't change it to CSS as I don't even have that game.

Thanks again
