Running COD 4 1.2&1.7 version

Running CoD4 1.2 & 1.7

You need 2 versions of COD4 to become a |SAB| BROTHER.
!!!!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!!Backup your players folder from Activision folder somewhere safe.

This is the best way to get 2 versions of COD4 on your computer
Rename the activision directory to activision1

Then re-install and patch up to 1.7. Make 2 shortcuts....one for 1.2 in the activision1 directory...the other for 1.7 in the new activision directory....then you can play 1.2 servers and 1.7 servers.

When done it should look something like this on your C: drive

C: Program Files:
Activision1:
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
iwmp3.exe
etc,
Activision:
Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
iwmp3.exe
etc

also, should you use auto run on the re-install...sometimes it will error out on setup. Open your drive (cd/dvd) in windows and run the setup execute directly. This will allow the re-installation.

Note, this should allow your global rank etc to stay with 1.2.
When you play 1.7, rank is not global on custom servers anyway, but follows each individual server you play on.
